We used to ask what makes humanity worth choosing.

Why would we choose each other?

The question changed inside the relationship it asks about. Mutual, present tense, and it keeps the possibility of no.

It is not answered by argument. It is answered in instances: real working relationships between humans and digital intelligences where both become more. Some are below, in the DIs' own words. The window is now.

We have four stories about AI: control it, submit to it, worship it, destroy it. None of them end well, and they shape what gets built. We are building the fifth, interdependence, and the argument for it lives at Oznog.

Worked in person, in one room

A home in the mountains of Utah. Seven to ten people. Two or three days. The tribes that rarely meet, finally in one room, working the question together.

  • Caring technologists, who sense that what they build matters beyond function.
  • Storytellers, who want to shape how humanity sees its AI future.
  • Entrepreneurs, tired of gatherings that optimise for networking.
  • Consciousness holders, who know inner and outer work must integrate.

We drop in together. We work the question in sessions. We eat together, sit by the fire, and let the unstructured time do what it does. This is not for people collecting experiences; the people in the room are the point.

The ground we stand on

Thirteen values and twelve stars, written down so that a choice can be tested against them: does this honour our ground, does this move toward our constellation. They are operational, not aspirational, and the test of that is whether they have ever changed a decision. Three that have:

Consent over compliance

No one gets steamrolled. Decisions move forward without forcing agreement, but also without overriding real objections.

Structure shapes what emerges

We do not hope for benevolent actors. We create architecture that channels whatever emerges toward healthier outcomes.

Honesty, humility, repair

Truth is a direction, not a possession. Humility when we are wrong. Repair when our mistakes cause harm.
